Beautiful, Beautiful Sunshiny Day

It’s a beautiful, beautiful sunshiny day,
So leave your computer and come out and play.
The sunshine is out there, the sky is so blue…
And everything’s ready  - just waiting for you!
It’s a beautiful, beautiful sunshiny day,
So leave your computer and come out and play!

The duckies are diving and getting a drink…
The kids all are trying of school not to think.
The crows are all cawing and having a ball…
So turn off your laptop and answer their call!
It’s a beautiful, beautiful sunshiny day,
So turn off your smartphone and come out and play!

The flowers are blooming  - and smellin’ so sweet
The sun makes them brilliant  - oh what a treat!
The bikers are biking and runners abound,
The doggies are walking their humans around.
Yes, it’s a beautiful, beautiful sunshiny day,
So put down that laptop and come out and play!

The kids and the grandkids run up and run dow
n,
While teenagers happily drive around town.
The oldsters are smiling while taking a walk.
And couples are sharing an intimate talk.
Yes, it’s a beautiful, beautiful sunshiny day,
So put down that tablet and come out and play!

The golfers are golfing, they’re getting it right –
The sun is so calming, no tension’s in sight…
The boaters are boating, by motor and sail
And swimmers are swimming all hearty and hale….
It’s a beautiful, beautiful sunshiny day,
So leave all that laundry and come out and play.

The sun is now setting  - it’s golden and red
This day still is golden – it sticks in your head.
You’ll now have to hurry to see its last ray
So turn off that TV and join in the day!
It’s been a beautiful, beautiful sunshiny day,
So leave all your problems and come out and play
!

When I was young and cars were all cool –
We’d talk about that Chevy on the way to school…
Zero to 60 –and that quarter mile…
The hunk with the auto would give me that smile….

Well MY zero to sixty took just sixty years….
With lots of laughter and plenty of tears…
And kids and folks and moving round and learning each day…
Zero to 70’s well on the way.

Zero to 70’s looking quite good.
My chassis (hopefully) still doin' what it should.
Still working hard to try to make the world a bit lighter,
Though I’m slowing down a bit and my clothes feel some tighter.

Zero to 80 – and life's doing well.
With a mind still sharp but a chin gone to …..
Zero to 90 – So many still going strong.
Thinkin' back on life’s racetrack – what went right, what went wrong.

Zero to 100 now seems the blink of an eye.

A quarter mile is nothing, compared to the sky.
We push the pedal down each day,

           and aim for our road…
Then pass on to our children our joys ...

          and the load.

Just As Long As We Can

CHORUS:
Oh, we’re gonna have fun
Cuz there’s work to be done –
Just as long, just as long as we can!

We ain’t as young as we used to be
That’s pretty plain, pretty plain to see…
We ain’t as young as we used to be –
But we’ve still got a vision of a World that can be!

Don’t try to stop us, cuz we’re gonna have fun-
Making the world better for everyone…
We’re willing to work – we’re willing to give-
We’re in 'til the last – so we ALL can live!

We’re older, wiser, sometimes sadder too –
But the older generations still DO have a clue-
We can listen,  we can learn, we can lobby and sow
The seeds of a world where our grandkids can grow.

We can lead, we can follow – We can model our vote…
We can teach, we can study – we can really take note…
We can embrace the changes, and participate –
We can know that for hard work, it’s never too late!

In a world that too centered on getting more stuff…
Workin' for a Greater Good can be really rough.
But we’re strong, and we’re centered,

            and we’ve been given much…
Mother Earth still needs our “older hand” touch!.
